When will we find life’s meanings?
How will we record our wisdom?
Now is when, and our stories are how.
“I see a change in my patients who’ve gone to [Phoebe’s life-writing] classes. Their eyes light up and there’s a sense of well-being that’s restored. It’s truly some of the best medicine around, with no side effects or drug-drug-interactions! The ultimate care for loneliness.”
—Dr. Jennifer Brinkerhoff, Geriatrician and Medical Director, Orchard Cove Senior Living

Rememoir: a Writer’s Workshop
A “Rememoir” is a collection of short, readable, life-stories. In life’s complex universe, it’s the constellation of a writer’s brightest personal stars.
We work in a short format on topics like “Origins,” “Love,” and “Adventure,” making the writing process easier than memoir, and the results more readable for family and friends. Each topic runs 6-8 weeks, on-site, and includes: weekly 75-minute university-style seminars in craft; diverse literary examples; open-ended prompts; designated in-class writing time; and encouraging expert feedback. Content aligns with the principles of narrative medicine and the practice of life review. All class materials are designed with senior accommodations.
“This feels like a college class without the homework burden. I’m learning so much!” —Student writer E. B.
