Phoebe Baker Hyde’s essays and short stories have appeared in The New York Times, LA Times Magazine, Salon, and Gulf Coast, among others. Her controversial memoir, The Beauty Experiment, was published by DaCapo/ Perseus in 2013.
Two decades of teaching include middle- and high school students; undergraduates; and adults at Boston and Brookline Community Education; The Cape Cod Writer’s Center, and Boston’s Grub Street /Muse & the Marketplace Literary Conference. She currently teaches senior citizens in independent-living communities and through Tufts’ Osher/OLLI online-learning platform.
Phoebe received her MFA in writing from the University of California, Irvine, and has studied at Vermont Center for Fine Arts. Her B.A. in English and Anthropology is from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in New England.
